I’ve decided to write only in English from now on, unless Korean is specifically required. I’ve stopped posting on Instagram and Threads, where I used to write in Korean for a Korean audience. My online presence in Korean has started to feel limiting—I want to speak to a broader world.
Korean society, both online and offline, feels too narrow in scope. That’s not necessarily a problem in itself, but it makes it harder for me to find like-minded people. Since Korean is my first language and I was born and raised in Korea, I naturally rely on it—but that reliance tends to keep me anchored within the boundaries of its culture and society.
