I’m a book designer, not just a book cover designer. I think of a book as a whole—cover, content, and physical form working together. In this digital age, the printed book has become precious again, almost like it was before the printing revolution, if you know the history.
People often say graphic designers are problem solvers, and maybe that applies to book designers too. But I don’t want to just solve problems for clients. I want to create. I want to build the physical body that holds the soul of the content, working with writers and authors as collaborators.
If you’re curious about me: I meditate, run, read, and write every day. I watch films at TIFF Lightbox, ride Rombo, my Brompton folding bike, and often travel alone. I’m not especially into food, sports, or the afterlife. And I really don’t like clichés.
